There’s a whole lot more to Viva Las Vegas than the stage

Life & Style Weekend - - TRAVEL -

SOMETIMES the most difficult hurdle for a music festival is to make it about more than the stage. But Mantra’s Viva Las Vegas on the Gold Coast encompasses everything you want in a festival.

A combination of culture, art, music, food and beachfront location makes it a festival not to be missed.

Stepping into the marquee on opening night, I was blown away by the dazzling lights and big open stage. We were seated by the edge of the marquee and if I turned my head I could see the towering, glittering city buildings and if I looked straight ahead I could have been transported to the real-life Las Vegas.

When Jay Dupuis stepped out on stage dressed as Elvis Presley, I actually let out a small squeal of delight. I wasn’t the only one who was amazed, the whole audience went wild for the tribute artist.
