NOOSA CRAFT BEER FES­TI­VAL

Today Time: Noon–6pm

Where: Noosa Reef Ho­tel, 19 Noosa Dr, Noosa Heads.

TWENTY brew­eries small and large from across Aus­tralia will be at the one spot for a day full of beer, food and good times.

Go on a de­li­cious jour­ney of sip­ping, sam­pling and tast­ing some of the 80 beers, craft beers and ciders as well as in­ter­na­tional food stalls serv­ing up au­then­tic tastes. Chat to the peo­ple be­hind these brews while try­ing their prod­ucts.

There will be talks on brew­ing tech­niques, face paint­ing, balloon mak­ing and a jump­ing cas­tle to keep the kids busy, as well as char­ity raf­fles in sup­port of breast cancer and Sun­shine But­ter­flies. En­try is a gold coin do­na­tion, with all pro­ceeds do­nated to­wards these char­i­ties.

MU­SIC ON KINGS – LOVE TRAIN

Today Time: 6–9pm

Where: Kings Beach Am­phithe­atre, De Vene Ave, Kings Beach. Put on your plat­forms, dust off the flares and ex­pe­ri­ence the fab­u­lous hits of the 1960s and ’70s in an all-singing, all-danc­ing Motown, soul and disco spec­tac­u­lar. Whether it be re­liv­ing your colour­ful past or dis­cov­er­ing it for the first time, it is a per­fect mu­si­cal event for any age.

Fea­tur­ing hits from Earth Wind and Fire, The Bee Gees, Diana Ross, The Jack­son Five, Ste­vie Won­der, The Four Tops, The Supremes, The Temp­ta­tions, Glo­ria Gaynor and many more.

BACK YOUR­SELF 2017

Q&A WITH BEAST­MAN AND MIMI

Au­gust 30 Time: 5.30–6.30pm.

Where: 6 Ocean St, Ma­roochy­dore.

A GI­ANT street art wall will be cre­ated by two of Aus­tralia’s lead­ing street artists on Ma­roochy­dore’s Ocean St start­ing Mon­day, Au­gust 28, and fin­ish­ing Wed­nes­day, Au­gust 30.

The 17m x 8m long work brings to­gether world-renowned artists Bradley East­man (Beast­man) and Emily Deavers (MIMI) in a live street art project, which will transform a vast blank wall into a scene re­flect­ing the beauty and fragility of Aus­tralia’s seas. The pair will work col­lab­o­ra­tively to cre­ate the first Sea Wall in Aus­tralia.

Sea Walls is part of the PangeaSeed Foundation’s public art pro­gram, which is de­signed to bring oceans to the street and pro­voke a con­ver­sa­tion around con­ser­va­tion of the nat­u­ral en­vi­ron­ment. The project will also be a legacy art­work for Hori­zon Fes­ti­val.

Beast­man and MIMI are set to com­plete the wall on Au­gust 30 at 4pm fol­lowed by a Q&A for the com­mu­nity to get up close and per­sonal with the artists.

MALENY MU­SIC FES­TI­VAL

Where: Maleny Show­grounds, Maleny-Stan­ley River Rd,

Maleny.

EN­JOY the friendly vibe of home-grown and in­ter­na­tional artists while con­nect­ing with the lo­cal com­mu­nity at the Maleny Mu­sic Fes­ti­val. Come for one day or all three.

The week­end is filled with tal­ented mu­si­cians, chances to try out new things and per­for­mances with a dif­fer­ence.

FA­THER’S DAY AT AUS­TRALIA ZOO

VIN­TAGE CAL­EN­DAR GIRLS LAUNCH

It is also ap­pre­ci­ated to do­nate an old piece of jew­ellery or a hand­bag you no longer use to be sold, with pro­ceeds go­ing to­wards set­ting up the Beau­ti­ful You Re­treat.

Want to hold a stall? Stall book­ing are $69, which in­cludes a 3m x 3m area for you to set up your own tres­tle ta­ble and/or racks.
