EV­ERY month The Shed at Dow­nun­der Drive brings to­gether some of the best Sun­shine Coast mu­si­cians for an af­ter­noon of live mu­sic. This month’s stel­lar line-up in­cludes four-piece band Same­time, 2016 QMu­sic two-time nom­i­nee and award-win­ner Doolie, Triple J Un­earthed chart-top­per Fieu and APRA AMCOS Vanda and Young Song­writ­ing Com­pe­ti­tion fi­nal­ists Fragile An­i­mals. All ages are wel­come and en­try is free, how­ever it is rec­om­mended to re­serve your spot at www.theshed.live.

Where: Nam­bour Show­grounds, Corona­tion Ave, Nam­bour. WHERE can you find a trea­sure trove of an­tique, vin­tage and col­lectable items from 150 deal­ers all in the one spot? At the Collectorama Fair. En­try is $6 a per­son and ad­mis­sion is free for chil­dren un­der 12. There is an ATM on site and park­ing is free.

HON­OUR­ING First Na­tion peo­ple through mu­sic, dance, vis­ual art, song and spo­ken word, Coolum’s Stumers Creek plays cen­tre stage for the Hori­zon Fes­ti­val fi­nale. Fea­tur­ing the Gubbi Gubbi Dance Troupe and a num­ber of choir groups, as well as vis­ual art in­stal­la­tions, Dawn Awak­en­ing cre­ates a place of gath­er­ing, remembering, dream­ing and rit­ual. BYO rug or beach mat to sit on. Cof­fee and bush foods are avail­able for pur­chase.

LOOK­ING for a phys­i­cal and men­tal chal­lenge to con­quer this week­end? Join The Kind­ness Col­lec­tive and learn the fun­da­men­tals of acroyoga and slackline.

The Kind­ness Col­lec­tive is the re­sult of a pas­sion­ate col­lab­o­ra­tion of lo­cals shar­ing their skills and knowl­edge to im­prove the health and well-be­ing of the com­mu­nity. The project aims to bring mem­bers of the com­mu­nity to­gether through free events, classes and work­shops, as well as the dis­tri­bu­tion of Kind­ness Cards. Please note, these classes are free but do­na­tions are al­ways wel­comed and ap­pre­ci­ated to as­sist in the ex­pan­sion of The Kind­ness Col­lec­tive and other ac­tiv­i­ties.

BEERS, burg­ers and horse rac­ing are on the agenda this Fa­ther’s Day at the Sun­shine Coast Turf Club. There are a va­ri­ety of hos­pi­tal­ity pack­ages avail­able, in­clud­ing a buf­fet lunch in the func­tion room com­plete with themed ta­bles and a free beer on ar­rival for dad. It’s $55 a per­son or $30 for un­der-18s. Or opt for the beer and burger deal for $20 an adult at the Fur­long Ter­race. These prices in­clude ad­mis­sion to the race­course. The first race is at 1pm and there will be free kids’ en­ter­tain­ment on course.

Where: Mooloolaba Beach

CHEER on lo­cal, na­tional and in­ter­na­tional com­peti­tors who set out to con­quer the pres­ti­gious Iron­man 70.3 Sun­shine Coast. Start­ing with a swim off the surf beach fol­lowed by a flat and fast bike course, the run will tie up the day’s ex­cit­ing events with a two-lap course around Mooloolaba’s Es­planade. This event pro­vides a fit­ting warm-up for the ath­letes head­ing to Kona for the Iron­man World Cham­pi­onship in Oc­to­ber.

HORI­ZON FES­TI­VAL: The Dawn Awak­en­ing will be held on Septem­ber 3 at Coolum Beach.
