CHEESY Vegemite Scrolls
YOU WILL NEED:
• 3 cups plain flour • 2 ½ tablespoons McKenzie’s Baking Powder • 1 pinch salt • 50g butter, at room temperature • 375 mL milk • 3 tablespoons Vegemite • 200g tasty shredded cheese
STEP 1. Preheat your oven to 200°C. Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
STEP 2. Use your hands to rub the butter into the mixture until it looks like breadcrumbs. Slowly stir in milk to form a soft dough before kneading gently. Sprinkle a light layer of flour on your bench first to prevent your dough from sticking!
STEP 3. Use a rolling pin to flatten the dough into a large rectangle, about 40cm x 25cm. Spread Vegemite and cheese over the dough then roll it up. Cut up the roll to form smaller pieces and sprinkle with extra cheese. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
