The West Coast of Scotland is home to rich wildlife. Both white-tailed and golden eagle have become a familiar sight in the skies over the Cuillins and Raasay, while it is not unusual to spot common and bottlenose dolphin, harbour porpoise and even minke whale from sites on the Skye shore, as well as common and grey seal and otter. Take one of the boat trips from Portree, Elgol or Shieldaig, and you might also glimpse rarer visiting whales.
