Pick up most mags this month and you’ll find editors everywhere reminiscing on another year gone by and committing their resolutions to print – it’s standard New Year fodder – and who can blame us, these intros really aren’t as easy to write as you’d think! Well I’m bucking the trend… I’ve already got a list of self-improvements as long as my arm, and I sure don’t need to feel guilty about what I should be sewing, who I should be following or how much I should be buying. No fabric diets here folks. I mean, there are worse habits to have than print hoarding, right?
Instead of dwelling on what we ought to be doing this New Year, let's focus on getting excited about what we want to be making! So without further ado, I’m going to kick off 2016 with some mojo-boosting makes to blow away the cobwebs and lengthen your to-do lists. Lori Hartman makes her LP&Q debut with a rainbow-coloured Flying Geese quilt – perfect for pepping up your sofa on a grey day. Another new contributor is lovely Ashley Jepperson, who shares her super-cute travel case design. They're just the right size for on-the-go patchwork, so pack up your EPP kit and take it with you! Our regular collaboration with The Cotton Club continues this month with our Pluses and Plaid quilt – designer Laura Pritchard has paired fresh springtime greens with pops of sunshine yellow to truly cast off the winter blues. I'd also like to welcome Sarah Sharp to the team, her Kasbah blocks are perfect for pairing prints to make them really pop!
Bring on 2016! Here's to another year packed full of quilting goodness – watch this space!
