CUTTING OUT

Using the template as a guide, cut the fabric pieces for each section of the FPP template, making sure the pieces will be at least ¼in larger than the section they will cover, all the way around.

PIECING THE ROW

2

Repeat steps 1–9 of our FPP tutorial to piece one Large Mushroom Block FPP template, sewing the fabrics in place in numerical order. Repeat to piece a total of five Large Mushroom blocks.

3

Repeat steps 1–7 of our FPP tutorial to piece one each of the Small Mushroom Block Sections A and B FPP templates, sewing the fabrics in place in order.

4

Arrange the two sections with Section A on the left and Section B on the right. Pin together carefully matching the block edges.

5

Return your stitch length to its normal length for piecing. Sew the pinned Sections A and B together, then press the seam open. Trim around the outer dashed line of the paper templates.

6

Remove the templates to complete one Small Mushroom Left block.

7

Repeat steps 3–6 to make a total of two Small Mushroom Left blocks.

8

Repeat steps 3–6, this time arranging the sections with Section B on the left and Section A on the right, to make one Small Mushroom Right block. Repeat to make a total of two Small Mushroom Right blocks.

9

Take the Large, Small Right and Small Left Mushroom blocks and arrange them into a row, alternating them as shown and arranging your prints as desired (Fig 1).

10

Join the blocks together to complete Row Two, pressing seams open.
