Stash files for easy access

Dropshelf is a place to hold files, during what would otherwise be a long-winded drag-and-drop. This is useful when moving files or collecting items from different folders to attach to an email.

The app is easy to use. Drag an item to the left or right screen edge and a shelf appears. Drop your item onto it, and it stays put. Drag it to a destination and the shelf disappears.

We’ve seen this kind of thing before, but Dropshelf impresses due to its execution, stability and hidden features, such as creating a shelf from clipboard content, or holding ß to disable Dropshelf during a drag. The app also supports URLs and text clippings, even providing basic conversion. It’s a no-brainer if you can make use of its functionality. Craig Grannell
