iTrip Auto with Lightning connector
£45 Manufacturer Griffin Technology, griffintechnology.com
4 Griffin’s iTrip devices take the audio from an iPod or iPhone, and transmit it over FM so when you tune your car radio to the same frequency it comes out of your car speakers. However, what’s new here is this latest iTrip has a Lightning connector, and so supports Apple’s latest devices. However, it’s something of a low-fi hack – partly because it’s using FM, so the results can be a little crackly and prone to interference, but it does work. Presets and a companion app help. A good, if somewhat expensive, solution if this is your only option for in-car audio. You should explore others first, though.
