I bought my first iMac a few months ago, and while there was a bit of a learning curve initially (I’ve been a PC user for 16 years), I’ve finally got to grips with the regular tasks that I need to do on a daily basis. To expand my knowledge, I picked up a copy of MacFormat, unsure if I’d find it packed with reviews of accessories I don’t want or need, or page after page of adverts (like some PC mags).
I was pleasantly surprised to find articles of great interest. Technical gems (such as resetting the SMC and PRAM) – problem solving and helpful walkthroughs of common tasks that I’ve not got to grips with yet. I’ve had the highlighter pen out and have sticky tabs poking out the top of the magazine, which now sits on my bookcase as a resource to turn to if I need help.
Yes, there are still reviews for products I don’t need, but there are so many I do want! It’s safe to say I’ll be having a word with Santa later in the year. You now have another subscriber – keep up the good work!
