Why won’t my MacBook charge?
I have a MacBook Air that’s recently refused to charge from the mains. When the MagSafe connector is plugged in, the battery icon doesn’t show that it’s charging. If it says ‘Condition: Replace Now’ or ‘Service Battery’ then this confirms it. Batteries can fail if they ‘re left uncharged for weeks at a time; high temperatures can kill them within hours. Have a look at the cycle count – how many times it has been charged. The original Airs could only be charged 300 times without losing capacity. A new battery for the Air will cost £109 from an Apple authorised service centre.
