The idea of this app is to teach kids (aged 6-8) about cars in a way that’s more fun than standing out on the driveway on a cold morning. It has information on how cars work inside and out, from safety features to the mechanics. Some of it’s great, like the minigames that take you through how to check the oil or change a tyre. Obviously they’re no substitute for the real thing, but they make the process less opaque.

That seems to be the idea of this app – making cars less mysterious, rather than turning out fully-fledged young mechanics. And it’s good at this, but we feel like it could be better. The engine guide glosses over so much of how it actually works, but it’s stuff that wouldn’t be hard to explain with animation. It’s a mixed bag like this all the way through, and suffers from some bugs/translation issues. It’s nice, but it’s not great. Matt Bolton

Does a great job of demystifying cars in some ways, but stumbles in others. Lacks polish, too.
