Apple IBM gets enterprise

Mac Format - - APPLE WORLD -

Apple and IBM have introduced their first jointly developed solutions for enterprise users, focussing on banking, retail, insurance, financial services, telecommunications and government in the first tranche with more solutions planned. These secure apps can be customised and deployed, managed and upgraded using cloud services from IBM specifically for iOS devices. “They’re very easy to use, fun and built completely ground-up for mobile, but they’re incredibly complex, powerful, tying into their backend, large data systems for rich intelligent analytics,” said Apple’s marketing VP, Phil Schiller. Most analysts expect the Apple IBM alliance will consolidate growing use of Apple’s mobile devices among enterprise. Apple is understood to have assembled a team to launch the service in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
