Keewifi Router

Mac Format - - GADGETS - £$99 (about £65)

What is it? Some of us enjoy tinkering with routers, others just want to plug in and go surfing in seconds. Keewifi aims to be the simplest router to set up yet and it secures mobile devices just by holding them near the router for authentication. It uses the latest 802.11ac wireless standard and thanks to its proximity technology, only devices that are authenticated by being physically next to the router can connect to the network. No passwords, no admin panel, nothing! When’s it due? Summer 2015. Why are we excited? This Kickstarter project is running at more than twice its target goal and could be the first of a new type of ‘no setup’ routers. As well as its proximity security, Keewifi also sports Beamforming technology that targets Wi-Fi devices and boosts strength based on their position, ensuring a stronger signal where you need it most.
