Guiding my way

Mac Format - - IMPROVE -

While I like MacFormat’s iPad edition, one major fault is the inability to easily tell which articles scroll and which do not. And therefore it is much too easy to miss information. Very unfortunate I find! This could easily be solved, for example, by simply placing a small arrow at the bottom of articles that scroll upward, and then an arrow at the top also when the article also scrolls downward, etc. And an arrow could vanish when the end of the article is reached. Simple and effective, what do you think? Tom Quackenbush Christian Hall says: We’re glad you enjoy our interactive edition for iPad, Tom. Because of the touch nature of the iPad we find most people try to touch the text and instantly discover whether it scrolls or not. We also fade the bottom of a column of text where it will scroll further, and a scrollbar will appear at the right of a text column when there is more content. Arrows have been used for some features in the past but we try not to clutter our pages as space is a premium! However, we are looking to make some changes to the print magazine and interactive edition very soon so watch this space (for arrows!)
