Repurposing an old iPhone

Mac Format - - APPLE TALK -

I’ve just upgraded my iPhone 4 to a 6, and I’d like to reuse the old phone as an iPod for my eight-year-old daughter. She’s too young to have her own phone, but I’d like her to be able to get games from the App Store. Can I do this without getting another SIM card? Glen Tamar If your daughter will have her own iTunes account, you’ll need to put your SIM back in the old phone briefly to allow you to activate it in iTunes for that account. Even if she will share your account, you’ll need to pop the SIM back in to update or restore iOS. Other than that the iPhone 4 will work just fine for apps and music over a Wi-Fi connection.
