Poco Eco’s world is a joy, bursting with warm colours, sharp lines and neon structures. At its best it’s something you just want to gawp at.

You tap to move through 3D worlds, opening pathways by walking over buttons and shifting platforms around. In one level you may be crossing a flat river by stepping onto moving squares, while in another you’re rotating drum pad-shaped platforms. The game’s music, by IAMYANK, is very much the key theme. It’s not perfect: awkward camera angles can make moving a chore, and the game only lasts a few hours.

But the mesh of music and art makes Poco Eco a breeze, despite these foibles. The story may be a celebration of the cassette, but the game is effortlessly cool in a very modern way.

Poco Eco isn’t a brain-strainer, but it will give your senses a welldeserved hug.
