Works with iPhone, iPod touch, iPad Version 1.1

One lesser-mentioned use for an iPhone or other iOS device is as a voice recorder. And while the fidelity is never going to be as good as a dedicated pocket recording device, you always have your phone with you.

Mic’d is a simple app that uses the microphone on your device (or indeed any other connected mic) to capture audio. It can be set to start recording on launch, and to split recordings into five, 15 or 30 minute chunks. Recordings can be played back, renamed, shared to social media or exported to an email or message. There’s support for Apple Watch too, though it’ll trigger recording or playback, rather than record on the phone. There’s no editing and most of what it does is already in Apple’s Voice Memos app, though splitting recordings and Watch remote support aren’t.

A useful little app if you have an Apple Watch, though quite similar to Voice Memos.
