Spotlight gets smarter
Spotlight in El Capitan gains the intelligence to understand what you’re looking for when you express yourself using natural language. Apple’s demo used phrases such as “find slides from brian” and seemed effective. The same technique is available in Mail and Finder too, but it remains to be seen whether it works better with complex sentences than the Calendar app currently does for event creation. If it works well, you could pair it with OS X’s Dictation feature to gain something like the interactions you get with Siri on iOS. El Capitan also eliminates an annoyance with the Spotlight window: you can move it away from the middle of your desktop, and resize it to show more results.
Spotlight connects to more online sources to provide weather forecasts and sports results.
