Whichever iOS device you have, Siri – Apple’s voicecontrolled personal assistant – will help you get the most from it. Since its debut in 2011 on the iPhone 4S (earlier models need not apply), the cloud-based voice recognition service has come on leaps and bounds.

According to Apple, it now serves a billion requests per week and has become 40% faster and more accurate in the last year. It’s going to get better, too – iOS 9’s release in September (see page 79) will see Siri gain a few exciting new abilities.
