3 This 32GB flash drive is both future-proofed and backwards compatible. It has two USB 3.0 connectors – a Type A for the many existing Macs, and a Type C for the 2015 MacBook and any future models that have that tiny connector. The drive’s mean average sequential transfer rates of 65.7MB/sec (reading) and 53.4MB/sec (writing) are roughly as quick as a portable USB 2.0 hard drive – acceptable but not speedy. Nor is it elegant-looking, but it is practical if you have or are planning a near-future purchase of a MacBook with USB‑C. Alan Stonebridge A sensible investment if you need to shuttle files between the new MacBook and an older Mac, but it’s not a looker – and it’s pricey.
