What is it? Kerv is, as its creators describe it, “the world’s first contactless payment ring”. It’s basically a ring with an NFC chip inside that lets you pay by fist-bumping the payment terminal like a bro. Like a bro who has no time for credit cards or Apple Pay. Because they’re too busy being a bro.

When’s it due? April 2016.

Why are we excited? It doesn’t need to be paired with a smartphone and doesn’t need to be charged – it just works, to borrow a phrase. It’s quick and simple and makes Apple Pay look rather cumbersome by comparison. That’s surely worthy of a fist bump.
