Forklift 3 $29.95 (about £24)
A Finder alternative that does the heavy lifting
Finder is one of those parts of macOS we just live with. It’s not amazing, it’s just there. So if you want a better file manager, then Forklift is definitely worth a look.
For a start, it’s got a dual-pane window that makes it far easier and quicker to copy files between locations. If the dual-pane look isn’t for you, it has single-pane and tabbed views as well.
It’s much more than a Finder alternative, though. It lets you connect to FTP, WebDAV and other connections, so you can upload files to a website or server quickly and easily.
You can mass rename files in one batch, and edit the content of text documents without opening them. There’s even a menu bar icon that lets you quickly drag and drop files to upload them to a server. It’s a great app that’s quick, simple and powerful.
