What is HealthKit?

Apple’s Health app can store info about your exercise patterns, and so on. However, the app is part of a wider software framework that Apple calls HealthKit. This allows a variety of health apps to share data – so your Nike running app and Withings scales can talk to each other and combine their data into a personal health profile.
