28 Bat­tery life of the eMate 300 in hours

The new MacBook Pro’s bat­tery lasts for 10 hours, but back in 1997 the eMate 300 kept go­ing for an im­pres­sive 28 hours. Of course, it was a very dif­fer­ent beast, aimed at the ed­u­ca­tional mar­ket and used in schools.

Launched in 1987, this de­vice al­lowed you to back up your tape-based data. It could back up 20MB of files in ap­prox­i­mately 17-18 min­utes.
