So, it seems pretty certain that the iPhone 8 will boast a 3D sensor. I’m excited about that! Me too. I mean, what cooler security pass is there than an iris scan! Moving towards biometric security is so MinorityReport! It’s the augmented reality application that I’m most interested in. Once your humble phone can scan your face, you can start appearing as the hero in your favourite game! It’s actually quite frightening at the same time. Have you seen that clip on Twitter? It’s supposedly an inter dimensional portal in a street, created using Apple’s ARKit. Talk about disorientating. It’s hilarious that when you’re in the AR world, the real world actually looks totally fabricated and, er, unreal! Check out @madewithARKit! I love that clip! Just think, in a few short years, we may be able to partake in an AR experience just strolling down the street – they’ll be people spooking out and bumping into each other all over the place! I think we’re getting a bit carried away with the crazy, fun stuff. Ahem, as I said, this kind of tech will lead to seriously robust security measures. And that’s better for everyone.
