Apple patents haptic-enabled Watch band

-

Apple has recently been granted a slate of patents covering all sorts of potential new inventions. The 61 patents in total were granted in early February 2018. Notable is a patent filed in 2013 for ‘pattern projection using micro-lenses’, which has already made its way into the iPhone X’s Face ID.

As for other concepts, there’s a patent for a ‘band with haptic actuators’ – an Apple Watch band with embedded haptic sensors that can interact with you in much the same way as the Watch itself currently does. As these are just patents, it’s unclear if they will all make it into finished Apple products. We’ll update you on developments.
