CLASSIC Apple KIT: quadra 800
In 1993, the Quadra 800 was one of the first Macs to move away from the boot floppy in favour of the bootable CD-ROM. Although the processor ran at a hundredth of today’s speeds and it shipped with one thousandth of the memory, this was a fast machine for its time, intended as a professional workstation. The SCSI bus, video chip and memory performance were all high-performance versions, and this model could outperform the Quadra 950. This was a great computer let down by a terrible case design. Adding extra memory required you to almost completely dismantle the computer.
