Tailor your Mac in ways that suit your workflow

Mac Format - - CONTENTS - Kenny Hemphill

Mac users fall into two groups. There are those who set up their desktop and workspace exactly the way they want it to make them as productive as possible.

The rest of us leave almost everything as it is and promise ourselves that one day we’ll get round to setting it up properly.

This tutorial is aimed squarely at the second group, which we’d wager easily makes up the bulk of Mac users. The good news is that there are lots of ways you can configure your Mac so it’s easier to navigate; simpler to access the files, folders and tools you need; and make you much more productive.

We’ve described tips here that can be carried out without any additional software or knowledge. However, if you want to go further, there are lots of apps that will allow you to perform further customisation and even automate processes so that if, for example, you leave files lying across the desktop, they are filed away neatly without any intervention from you.
