Make a photo book with Photos turn your precious photos into a physical memento

Mac Format - - CONTENTS - Hollin Jones

digital photos are commonplace now, but there are still times when you want to print a physical book of your images, perhaps to remember a family event or

holiday, or to give as a gift. Apple’s Photos app allows you to do this and has a great balance of features and usability.

From your photo library or an album in Photos, choose to create a book, select from the various theme, size and paper options, then drag and drop images onto pages. You can change any page layout, add text, and set the number of pages as well. When you’re finished, the book can be exported as a PDF or sent off to an online photo-printing company from within the app.

Apple is set to discontinue its own printing service soon, but Photos prompts you to download a third-party extension from the Mac App Store – Shutterfly, Mimeo Photos and ifolor Designer are a few of the options – which replicate the ‘design and send’ tools from Photos. Whichever you opt for, this is your chance to reconnect with memories in a physical format.
