Planny is designed to organise your life by combining calendars, reminders, notes and to-do lists.
Version 3 adds support for Dark Mode, new Siri Shortcuts, and document scanning; on iPad you get multi-space and multiwindow support. It also introduces a long-press contextual menu for easier organisation, the ability to create subtasks and integration with Apple’s Game Center to compare your productivity rankings and achievements.
A subscription unlocks the Calendar view, location-based reminders, iCloud sync and backup, Face ID unlocking, sketching, printing and tagging, and collaboration features. Planny is also available for your Mac and Apple Watch.
Planny also enables you to create lists, events with deadlines, and tags and the app can identify tasks for your daily plan and remind you of upcoming deadlines.
The interface is a bit confusing; it’s not obvious where you would create new tags. We also encountered bugs: significant delays between selecting a section and Planny switching to it, and some buttons that didn’t respond. We’re sure these’ll be fixed in the regular app updates.
