Despite the incorrect spelling of the word “Antarctic” in the title, Antartic Adventure is an otherwise entertaining endless platform-running game. Although the graphics are appropriately cute and cartoonish, the gameplay itself tends to be a little maddening — but not for the reasons you might think.

The game’s user interface is an exercise in sheer lunacy, with highlights that appear on the wrong buttons – so no matter which one you press, you’re bound to wind up somewhere other than where you intended. When it comes to actual gameplay, controlling your penguin’s movements is equally futile. You might manage to pick up a few coins before you crash and burn, and if that doesn’t cause enough frustration, the endlessly looping music certainly will.

When a game can’t even get its own title right, the gameplay doesn’t hold much hope.
