Yes, the very name of this app is spelled incorrectly, but that’s the whole point of this fast-paced, challenging word game. The goal of Mispelled is to spot the misspelled letter in each word as quickly as you can, then turn the Digital Crown to select it before time runs out.

Mispelled offers five categories: Brands, Hollywood, Music, Sports, and Remix. These are referred to as “themes” in the app, but changing from one to the other doesn’t alter the appearance, only the game content. Gameplay is also accompanied by simple sound effects that provide audible feedback for success or failure.

The app features real-time rankings, and you can use the iPhone app to boast about your high scores by sharing to social networks. Mispelled is a bit of a trickster, and occasionally will mix things up by tossing out words that have extra characters in them.

the bottom line. Mispelled is a fun distraction with enough variety to keep you engaged.
