Third-party apps
>>> An advantage of enabling 2FA is that you don’t then need to provide your Apple ID’s password to third-party apps, which you may not entirely trust. Instead, generate an app-specific password. At appleid.apple.com, look for “App-specific passwords” under Security, and click Generate Password. Enter a label for the app or service, then click Create. This is the only time you’ll be shown this password; enter it where the app or service requests the one for your Apple ID.
To revoke app-specific passwords here, tap View History on iOS, or click Edit then View History on macOS.
