Priest on child sex count
DETECTIVES from the Child Abuse Squad have charged a 64-year-old man of Preston Beach as a result of their investigation into alleged historical child sexual offences. It will be alleged between August 2010 and November 2011 the man sexually assaulted a young girl. The victim was 10 years old at the time of the first offence. It will be further alleged these incidents occurred while the man was an Anglican priest and relieving at a church in Secret Harbour. He has been charged with three counts of indecent dealing of a child under 13 years of age and one count of persistent sexual conduct with a child under 16 years. The man appeared in Rockingham Magistrates Court last Tuesday and was ordered to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on March 9, 2017.
