Mandurah Coastal Times - - RESIDENTIAL -

AFTER years of hard work and dedication, Margaret Hayter, owner of Seachange Realty Rent Shop, is departing for a wellearned retirement.

“I have really enjoyed my 10 years of ownership of the business,” Mrs Hayter said.

“I took on a challenge from the beginning, starting with only two properties and working from home.”

Over the years, the small business grew and flourished.

“My goals were to build a business which looked after its clients and staff,” Mrs Hayter said.

“I had an accounting background before real estate which I believe put me in good stead. Each month we were lucky enough to have business grow.”

“A large percentage of business always came from existing and past clients referring friends and family.

“This type of growth was the pinnacle of my real estate career and I am very proud of and grateful for it.”

Although Mrs Hayter stepped back in the previous two years, anticipating her retirement, she knows moving on will be difficult.

“I will miss the friendships of my staff and all of my clients,” Mrs Hayter said.

“I have always been very lucky with my staff over the 10 years as I enjoyed excellent loyalty and very minimal turnover.”

Business has not always been smooth sailing for Mrs Hayter, but her loyal customers and staff made things easier.

“Over the years I have had few hiccups the death of my husband in 2010 and then my mother in 2013 and on both of those occasions when I was dealing with what I had to my staff took over, for which I was eternally grateful.

“Sometimes I think these things bring a business down but in my case it strengthened mine.”

Seachange Realty Rent Shop will continue in the hands of new owner, Greg O’Farrell.
