WA stu­dents do well

WA stu­dents have made sig­nif­i­cant improvements in this year’s Naplan re­sults.

The pre­lim­i­nary data shows that since the test­ing started in 2008, WA stu­dents have im­proved in 14 out of 20 ar­eas, which is the most im­prove­ment of all states in the coun­try.

Stu­dents have im­proved in Year 3 read­ing, spell­ing, gram­mar and punc­tu­a­tion and lit­er­acy, while Year 5 stu­dents have shown im­prove­ment in read­ing, spell­ing and nu­mer­acy.

Year 7 stu­dents have made ground in spell­ing, gram­mar and punc­tu­a­tion, and nu­mer­acy and Year 9 stu­dents have im­proved in read­ing, spell­ing, gram­mar and punc­tu­a­tion, and nu­mer­acy.
