Cruelty case claims cat with tumours
IT was a horror 24 hours for RSPCA WA inspectors around the State, with cruelty and neglect cases being reported from Perth to Mandurah and Bunbury.
They attended a puppy bashing south of Perth, a neglected cat in Mandurah, a dog with severe mange in Perth’s northeast and an injured foal in Bunbury.
In Mandurah, an inspector seized a cat with large tumours on its head and body.
Some were infected with maggots, seeping pus and bleeding.
It was taken to a vet but the severity of its wounds meant it was beyond treatment and the animal was euthanased.
In all cases, inspectors are gathering evidence so they can press charges under the Animal Welfare Act (2002).
This cat from Mandurah was seized due to its horrifying condition.
