Artist auction helps bridge funds shortfall
EMOTIONAL VISIT TO PRIMARY SCHOOL
MANDURAH artist Emma Blyth was brought to tears when she visited Mandurah Primary School and saw where the money from her Crab Fest artwork had gone.
Mrs Blyth auctioned off her gorgeous painting featuring the Old Mandurah Bridge and donated the $5400 raised to the school.
“I cried because I was just blown away with the principal Natasha Upcott and her team of teachers and how much they go out of their way to care for their students,” she said.
“The school’s storeroom shelves went from empty to full from the auction of my Crab Fest painting.
“I am just so glad that I can help in some small way.
“Well done to the staff at this school for making a difference; I think you are amazing.”
Blyth is now gathering inspiration for her art piece to represent next year’s Crab Fest.
