Au­thor in­spires stu­dents

CHIL­DREN’S book writer and il­lus­tra­tor James Fo­ley vis­ited Halls Head Pri­mary School re­cently.

Fo­ley gave a dy­namic teach­ing ses­sion pre­sented by the com­bined Ro­tary Clubs of Man­durah that was in­ter­ac­tive and en­ter­tain­ing.

Fo­ley shared his story about how as a young boy he dreamed of mak­ing books.

He ex­plained how he grew into a taller, hairier boy who ac­tu­ally makes books.

He told stu­dents how he wrote his first book in kin­der­garten and then pro­gressed to his CBCA shortlisted ti­tles My Dead Bunny and The Last Vik­ing.

His lat­est book is a graphic novel Brobot and his next book Dungzilla is due out in Septem­ber.
