Join in health review

Mandurah Coastal Times - - NEWS -

MANDURAH MLA David Templeman is urging Mandurah residents to have their say in the State Government’s Sustainable Health Review.

The public submission period closes on October 2.

Mr Templeman said the State Government was engaging in an extensive community consultation process to ensure all West Australians, regardless of where they lived, could contribute to the review.

In the past 10 years, spending on health has almost tripled to $9 billion.

WA’s population has grown by more than 25 per cent, emergency department attendance has increased by almost 50 per cent and hospital admissions by 40 per cent.

Mr Templeman said the State Government was committed to ensuring West Australians had the best health care possible by focusing on patients.

“It is so important members of the community have their say in this review.

“People who work in the health system and patients can contribute so much to shaping a more sustainable health system in WA,” he said.

“If we have people from a wide variety of backgrounds making submissions, the Government will be able to shape the future of our health system in a way that is inclusive and meets the needs of all West Australians.”

Mr Templeman said Mandurah deputy mayor Darren Lee had raised the matter last week.
