Mandurah Coastal Times - - STREET WATCH -

SPRING is upon us and with the warmer weather comes more opportunity for offenders to be out and about committing crimes. The month of August showed a continued fall in our rates of burglary, theft and stealing of motor vehicles. The local policing team charged 92 people with 196 charges. As we proceed into September, Mandurah Police will continue to target stealing and burglary offences. Let’s make it harder for offenders by locking doors, windows, closing garages and securing property out of sight. Offenders often target car keys, smartphones, tablets, laptops in residences and motor vehicles. Don’t leave your car keys out and ensure smart devices have tracking activated, which can help catch offenders. Cancel any bank or personal cards immediately to prevent offenders from committing unlawful transactions. – Mandurah Police Station officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Stephen Thompson
