Wet weather road warn­ing

A 26-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with crim­i­nal dam­age af­ter he al­legedly smashed windows at premises on Le­man Street last week.

It was al­leged he went around the house and threw big lumps of concrete through the win­dow.

He will ap­pear in the Man­jimup Mag­is­trates Court at a later date.

In a separate in­ci­dent, a Balin­gup woman has been charged with speed­ing and drug of­fences as a re­sult of a rou­tine ve­hi­cle stop on South West­ern High­way on Satur­day. Po­lice are urg­ing driv­ers to take care on the roads dur­ing the wet­ter weather and drive to the con­di­tions.

Tra­di­tion­ally there are traf­fic crashes on our roads af­ter the first de­cent rains of the sea­son, said of­fi­cer-in-charge Sgt Harry Arnott.

“Po­lice are urg­ing peo­ple to leave a bit ear­lier and plan their trip,” he said.

“Tak­ing a bit of ex­tra time and mak­ing sure they ar­rive safe.”
