School grants for rec­on­cil­i­a­tion

SCHOOLS can ap­ply for $2000 grants to es­tab­lish or im­prove their rec­on­cil­i­a­tion pro­grams through Rec­on­cil­i­a­tion WA and SGIO.

Rec­on­cil­i­a­tion WA chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer James Back said this year marked 50 years since the suc­cess­ful 1967 Ref­er­en­dum.

“The School Rec­on­cil­i­a­tion Grants can be used for ini­tia­tives like run­ning cul­tural work­shops, invit­ing Abo­rig­i­nal el­ders or com­mu­nity peo­ple to speak, or hold­ing events to cel­e­brate rec­on­cil­i­a­tion,” he said.
