DRESSING UP AS THEIR HEROES
FICTIONAL characters were brought to life at Manjimup Senior High School for Book Week.
Last Thursday, the school held its annual character dress-up competition, with students from Year 7-12 dressing up as their favourite book and TV characters.
In the lower school category, first place went to Amber Castlehow and her costume as Unicorn Chronicles protagonist Cara Diana Hunter.
“Essentially, I had the book, liked the character and decided to dress up as her,” she said.
Isabella Slade was second for her Arwen costume from The Lord of the Rings trilogy and third went to Rebecca Radomiljac for her Cat Noir costume from the television show Miraculous Ladybug.
In the upper school competition, Giverny Seymour and Kellie White were first as Aragorn and Legolas from The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
“We’re both really big fans of the series and being Year 12, we decided to go all out,” Giverny said.
Second place went to Bryce Bamess, who was dressed as King Joffrey from Game of Thrones and was a “good example of how teenagers should not behave”.
Third place went to Genavieve Gunson for her Winnie Foster costume from Tuck Everlasting.
Manjimup Senior High School students Rebecca Radomiljac, Amber Castlehow, front, and Bryce Bamess, Genavieve Gunson, Kellie White, Giverny Seymour and Isabella Slade, rear, dress as their favourite fiction characters as part of Book Week festivities on Thursday.
