Times on August 16, Budget is ‘big business’ stated that within the 2017/2018 budget there was a $60,000 grant for the Pemberton Golf Club to go towards a club house. Yes, a new club house! This is really fantastic news for Pemberton and the 50 plus members of the Pemberton Golf Club.

These new facilities (presumably with a licence attached), along with the existing expansive sporting club building, will surely endear sports participation for this small, yet progressive and well-represented township into the future.

Not too sure what the sports clubs and participants who have to put up with the run-down change room and toilet facilities at Rea Park, the Collier Street grounds and the Manjimup Recreation Oval precincts would be thinking after reading the good news story for Pemberton.

Maybe the hundreds of people engaged in sporting pursuits in Manjimup at the above mentioned recreation facilities, especially in the current winter conditions, could hold their patience for another year until the 2018/19 budget or 2019/20, 20/21 budget.
