Tips to help find the right balance in life
FINDING a balance between work and lifestyle and the values to help you achieve that formed the topics of discussion in an event at the Roundhouse on Thursday.
Women gathered for tips and exercises on how to achieve a healthy work/life balance, with the main areas of focus being lifestyle values, income, employment, personal business and volunteering.
The event was presented by the South West Women’s Health and Information Centre and supported by funding from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries Women’s Grants.
Three speakers focused on different aspects of finding a work/life balance.
Lesley Jackes’ presentation centred on the identification of which of the five areas applied to each woman individually and how it could help find “lifestyle values”.
“It was also a day of encouragement and networking on how to adapt your lifestyle to regional living,” she said.
Sarah Collin’s presentation explored the women’s identified values and how exploring those values more could form the foundation of a successful life.
“There was also a mind and body aspect and I took them through a series of yoga exercises,” Ms Collin said.
Jacqui Graham’s presentation was an inside look into how identifying values and living by them could effectively work.
“I am living the life we’ve been talking about, I talked about the stress relief and the freedom that comes with it,” she said.
Women's Life Balance event speakers Sarah Collin, Lesley Jackes and Jacqui Graham brought a wide range of literature to give forum participants a head start on how to define and live a balanced life.
