Apex club names its new leaders

Manjimup-Bridgetown Times - - Times News -

MANJIMUP Apex Club celebrated a year of change at the weekend and continued the trend when the 62-year-old club made historical appointments to the core board.

For the first time in the club’s history, an outgoing president, Steve Walsh, retained his position for a second consecutive year.

“It’s an honour to lead this club and stand out the front,” Mr Walsh said.

“I’m just the person who stands up the front, the whole club itself is an entity, it’s never just one person, it’s the people in the club who make the club.”

Other historical changes made at the changeover was the 2016/17 vice president not taking on the presidency and the inaugural appointment of a

woman, Tari Jeffers, to the secretary position.

“We’ve had the honour in the last 12 months of inducting two female members, which is the first time the club’s ever done that,” Mr Walsh said.

Ben Wilson was named Apexian of the Year. Call Mr Walsh on 0409 016 040 for more information about the club.

The Manjimup Apex Club’s 2017/18 core committee is treasurer Ben Wilson, president Steve Walsh, vice president Jens Sundahl and secretary Tari Jeffers.
