Mo­tocross rid­ers crown stel­lar sea­son

MAN­JIMUP rid­ers cel­e­brated suc­cess in the State Mo­tocross Cham­pi­onships at the 2017 Shan­nons In­sur­ance Night of Cham­pi­ons in Perth last month.

In ad­di­tion to Neville Cutts be­ing recog­nised in the Motorcycling WA Hall of Fame, five ju­nior rid­ers were re­warded for their ef­forts this sea­son.

Tate Pa­ganini, 11, was third over­all in the 10 to un­der 12 65cc and Kai McGinty, 10, fin­ished third in the 7 to un­der 10 65cc.

Cobey Brown, 11, just missed out on a place and was forth in the small wheel 85cc.

Cam­ball McMa­hon, 13, fin­ished fifth in the big wheel 85cc and Bai­ley Smith, 13, was eighth in the big wheel 85cc.

The re­sults come less than a month af­ter Man­jimup rep­re­sen­ta­tives cleaned up at the South West In­ter­club Mo­tocross Cham­pi­onships.

Man­jimup Mo­tor­cy­cle Club has also been an­nounced as one of eight suc­cess­ful clubs to be cho­sen to host a stage of the State Mo­tocross Cham­pi­onships in 2018.

The club will hold a se­nior and ju­nior dou­ble header over Easter from March 31 to April 1.

About 400 rid­ers from around the State are ex­pected to com­pete in the event.

Kai McGinty and Tate Paginini cel­e­brate fin­ish­ing third in their di­vi­sions at the awards night last month.
