Big night to help cen­tre con­tinue

MORE than 100 items in­clud­ing wood loads, vouch­ers and a recharge­able lawn­mower will be up for grabs on June 16 when the Man­jimup Vis­i­tor Cen­tre hosts its an­nual fundrais­ing din­ner and auc­tion.

The fundraiser will fol­low the usual for­mat in­clud­ing a smor­gas­bord din­ner at the Man­jimup Ho­tel fol­lowed by an auc­tion to raise money for the not-for-profit cen­tre.

Cen­tre pres­i­dent Kathy Sav­age said busi­nesses in the re­gion were al­ways sup­port­ive to­wards the auc­tion.

“This is our one ma­jor fundrais­ing event for the year and busi­nesses around town are al­ways very gen­er­ous,” she said.

“It’s usu­ally a fan­tas­tic and en­joy­able night.

“The Man­jimup Ho­tel put on a smor­gas­bord din­ner and dessert, then we have a very en­ter­tain­ing auc­tion run by our auc­tion­eer Terry Reeve.”

Auc­tion items on the night in­clude a bat­tery-pow­ered, recharge­able lawn­mower, which was do­nated by Man­jimup Mo­tor­cy­cles and Small En­gines and re­tails at $649.

The fundrais­ing din­ner will be held on Satur­day, June 16, at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

Tick­ets are $35 and avail­able at the Man­jimup Vis­i­tor Cen­tre.
